Only members of Balansekunst can apply for funding from Balansepotten. If you’re not a member yet, you can sign up here.

Balansekunst funds projects and initiatives that promote equality and diversity in the cultural sector. You can apply for funding for everything from courses and skill development to installations.
The initiative should benefit multiple people and focus on diversity and accessibility. Examples of such initiatives can be found here.
The jury prioritizes projects with geographical spread and those addressing equality and diversity at a structural level. Involvement of underrepresented groups can also be a factor in the evaluation.

If the project doesn’t contribute to a more equal and diverse arts and culture sector, it won’t qualify. Funding is also not provided for regular operating costs or individual art projects. Projects or initiatives completed before receiving a decision are not eligible for funding.

There’s no upper or lower limit for the amount you can apply for. The goal is to encourage valuable initiatives across the country and support a more diverse and equal cultural sector, across fields, audiences, ages, and levels.
Self-funding, partnerships, geographical spread, and innovation can affect how much funding you receive. This depends on how well you describe the project's feasibility in your application.

To apply, use Balansekunst’s application portal. This is where you submit your application, upload attachments, and communicate with Balansekunst.
You’ll need to create an account to apply. Make sure to use an email address that you check regularly, as updates and decisions will be sent there. The application also requires an organization number registered in the national entity register.

The application deadline is in the spring each year.
