Art museums and art institutions have increasingly been criticised for not dealing with the colonial structures that shape the traditions of collecting, curating, conveying and researching.
The demand for decolonisation of the art field not only challenges hierarchies of power and colonial heritage but also paves the way for other ways of creating, understanding, experiencing and thinking about art.
In this debate, the panel shares its reflections on what decolonisation of the art institutions could mean and entail.
